Don’t Always Use Everything
The gurus always tell you to use every single ad you’re allowed to. Unless you are just in the website for the money, I’d say stick with two context ads a link box, and the referrer ads. If you are in the site for the long haul and want to make some extra money off of it, then make sure that your visitors can still read your content easily. Of course, if you can squeeze in that extra add without being annoying, then by all means.

There is no simple way to earn hundreds a day if you have a trickle of traffic. If you are earning $1 a day with 200 impressions, then if the click through rate and average cost per click stay about the same, getting 2000 people will earn you $10 a day. It’s simple High School math. Just provide unique and interesting content. It might not be what you want to hear, but it’s the truth.
The Other Secret Weapon: Testing
The one thing you always have to do in this field is test. Just putting the ads up doesn’t mean anything. Move them around, add some more, take some away, see what happens. If, when you do something, your earnings drop, well, don’t do that! Learn from your mistakes and your triumphs. I’ve done things that make me go from a few clicks a day to 0 for the time I have the changes up. You learn from it and move on.
The Other Other Secret Weapon
Blending. That’s probably one of the most important things. Make the text of the ads look like your text, remove the borders, make the links the same. It has to integrate into your website. Then your visitors won’t just skim over it as an ad, they might consider it.
